Meat Loaf’s death at age 74 sparked a flood of tributes to one of America’s most beloved performers and one of the best-selling artists of the ’70s and ’80s.
“We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man,” Meat Loaf’s family said in a statement.
Amid the mourning and remembrance, one of the more quirky stories from his career has surfaced: the time Meat Loaf threatened to push Prince Andrew into a moat!
The incident – which reportedly happened in 1987 on the set of It’s a Royal Knockout – saw members of the royal family compete in a game show alongside various celebrities, such as Meat Loaf.
